Shell Asks High Court To Annul Gas Franchise Ruling

Law360, New York (January 19, 2010) -- Although Shell Oil Products Co. LLC significantly raised rents for certain gas station owners in Massachusetts, it would have had to terminate the contractual franchise relationship entirely in order for the owners to bring a federal Petroleum Marketing Practices Act claim, an attorney for the Royal Dutch Shell PLC unit told the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday.
